Tuesday Morning Devotion 5.2.23

Today for our Monday devotion from Bethany ARP we looked at the Parable of the Persistent Widow from Luke 18 as we heard a word of reminder of how gracious and caring our Heavenly Father is for His covenant children.

Today in our devotion from Bethany ARP we looked at Hebrews 10:11-18. We saw how the one sacrifice of Christ is the culmination of the old covenant promises and nullifies the need for any continuation of the ceremonial law.

Today for our devotion from Bethany ARP we looked at 1 Cor. 12:12-26. Paul gives a word of encouragement to the church that we would understand God’s call to each of us and that we might be at peace with our role in His kingdom.

Our word for today was “suicide”. In Matthew 27:1-4 and 1 Samuel 31:4-5 we see two examples of suicide in the Bible. In each we see despair and loss treated with the choice of death. The good news in the midst of this is that those united to Christ by faith alone cannot be separated from the love of Jesus. As John 10:25-30 notes not even you can do that. Suicide is not an unforgivable sin, for the blood of the lamb is sufficient for all.
