Wednesday Morning Devotion 12.20.23

On today’s Tuesday devotional we heard a searching word from Charles Spurgeon on the need for humility in the face of God’s grace to us.

Today for our morning devotion from Bethany Church we took a look at 1 Cor. 11:1-16 and while dealing on the surface with the question of headcovering looked more deeply at Paul’s purpose in the lesson.

or our Monday devotion from Bethany ARP we took a look at Ezra 4:17-24 as we see an example of how to deal with those who spread gossip and false testimonies in the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our word for today was “Synod”. In Acts 15 the Apostles and Elders gathered at Jerusalem to figure out how to handle an issue in the church. Men still do this, and in the ARP our annual gathering is called a “Synod”. We helpfully define that for you and explain a little bit of the context.

Today for our What’s That Word feature from Bethany ARP we went over Jesus’s statement about hating mother and father from Luke 14:25-26.

Today for our Monday devotion from Bethany ARP we looked at Luke 12:16-21 as we heard about the parable of the Rich Fool and lessons we can draw from his impetuousness and lack of seeking after the Lord.
