For Monday’s devotion on Wednesday from Bethany ARP we began to look at Hebrews 7:1-10 and the continuation of Paul’s conversation about the superiority of Christ’s priesthood to the old covenant’s types and shadows.
He must stay in that state, wholly man, and wholly God, in order that He might continue to be our intercessor, our High Priest. Due to His ongoing physical state there is also a common bond where Jesus’ affections for His kin are a crucial part of His identity as the God-Man.
Today in our devotion from Bethany ARP we talked about the dangers of unconfessed unbelief, and why the fountains of the grace of Christ are more than sufficient to encourage us in our daily walk in Him.
Being a follower of Jesus means being at odds with the world, and the world doesn’t like that. It will do everything it can, whether on purpose or out of ignorance, to frustrate your attempts to meet with Christ on the Lord’s Day.
As we looked at Hebrews 6:13-20 we talked about the importance of how the Lord’s unchangeableness is the source of our assurance in hope.
The testimony of covenant is a way God reveals this to His people. His promise is everlasting, because He is everlasting. His covenant cannot change, because He does not change.
